Our Cotes du Rhone is made in partnership with Jean-Luc Colombo, the highly regarded Rhone producer based in Cornas, and it is certified organic. The appellation covers a great deal of ground, most production is typically in the south, and much of what carries the Cotes du Rhone name is cheerful and forgettable. This one is not. Sixty per cent of the blend is Syrah from the northern Rhone, which gives it the pepper, the violets and the grip that we like a Cotes du Rhone to have. Dark fruit, fresh, savoury, and built for the table rather than the sofa.
