Calcaire Cahors 2022
The Malbec grapes come from limestone-rich terrior which is called 'calcaire' in France. The soil sings through in this wine, providing freshness and crispness through it's fine tannin structure, which one might not expect from the modern style of Malbec. However it still has the dense, dark fruit that the grape has always been associated with. A fine balanced wine that can be enjoyed on it's own, but will stand up well to meaty dishes too.
35-40 year old vines fermented and aged in large 30HL oak foudres for 15 months.
